Aya El Sayed, a leading player for the University of Colorado women’s tennis team, has announced her return for one final season. El Sayed, who is from Alexandria, Egypt, missed part of last year due to injury but has been a consistent presence at the top singles position for the Buffaloes in recent years.

During her time with Colorado, El Sayed has accumulated a 50-31 singles record. Among those victories was a notable win over the reigning national champion from UCLA during the 2024 season. In doubles play throughout the 2024-25 season, she and partner Pia Rebec maintained a strong performance and concluded with a 19-13 record.

El Sayed appears on several career leaderboards at Colorado. She ranks 13th in singles winning percentage at .645 and is 10th in doubles pairs wins alongside Rebec with 11 victories.

She will join her teammates as they begin their spring schedule on January 23rd, starting home competition against Montana State.
