University of Colorado junior forward Bangot Dak has been named to the Big 12 Conference Starting Five for men’s basketball games played during the week of February 16-22, according to an announcement from the league office on Monday.
Dak contributed significantly in Colorado’s only game last week, leading the team to an 83-69 victory over Oklahoma State on February 21. He scored a game-high 17 points, collected seven rebounds, and recorded two blocked shots. Dak made five out of eight field goal attempts, including one of two from three-point range, and converted six out of seven free throws.
The Big 12 Starting Five is a new weekly award voted on by a media panel that covers the conference. It recognizes notable performances across the league. This is Dak’s first Big 12 weekly honor and also marks the first such recognition for any Buffaloes player since Colorado rejoined the conference last season.
Other players named to this week’s Starting Five include Anthony Dell’Orso from Arizona, Themus Fulks from UCF, Moustapha Thiam from Cincinnati, and AJ Dybantsa from BYU. Dybantsa was also recognized as both Player and Newcomer of the Week.
