Black Hills State’s Joel Speckman earns spot in Division II NCAA basketball tournament

Joel Speckman, a former Chaparral High School athlete now playing for the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets, is set to participate in the Division II NCAA Basketball Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets enter the competition as the No. 6 seed and will face the third-seeded Lubbock Christian Chaparrals in the opening round.

Tipoff for the first game is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. at the Kenneth E. Burg Center.
