The Colorado Buffaloes Ski Team announced on March 4 the selection of 12 skiers who will compete at the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships as the team aims for its 22nd national title.
The announcement is significant because NCAA rules allow only three skiers per gender and discipline to qualify, making each competitor’s performance crucial. Unlike regular season meets where teams can rely on depth, every finisher at nationals contributes to the team’s score, increasing pressure on each athlete.
The women’s alpine squad includes Louison Accambray, Paige DeHart, and Cathinka Lunder. Accambray returns for her second NCAA appearance after a standout season. Lunder, a sophomore, will make her debut at nationals, while freshman DeHart joins after strong late-season results.
On the men’s alpine side, Feb Allasina, Justin Bigatel, and Filip Wahlqvist were selected. This group has twice swept the podium in giant slalom events this year. Allasina and Bigatel are set for their first NCAA appearances; Wahlqvist will compete at nationals for a third time.
For women’s Nordic events, Tilde Baangman brings experience with her fourth NCAA appearance and second representing Colorado. She is joined by Astri Lunde and Nina Schamberger—Lunde competing for a second time and Schamberger making her third career appearance but first as a Buffalo.
The men’s Nordic team features Johannes Flaaten in his third national championship alongside freshmen Jakob Moch and Storm Pedersen. Both newcomers have become key contributors during their debut seasons.
With several athletes left off the roster despite strong performances throughout the season, Colorado enters the championships with high expectations from its selected squad.
