The Colorado Buffaloes women’s tennis team, holding a 5-2 record, is set for a three-match road series in Nevada this weekend. The team will compete against UNLV on Friday and then face Gonzaga and Utah Tech on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Last week, the Buffaloes lost to Alabama 4-0 but responded with two 4-1 victories over Minnesota and St. Thomas. As they approach their matchup with UNLV, both teams are tied in their all-time series at 6-6. The Buffaloes have won the last two encounters against UNLV, including one played on UNLV’s home courts.

“Coming off a tough weekend of competition, we’re ready to get back in it and face UNLV,” said head coach Anthony Pham. “UNLV is a good team, Gonzaga and Utah Tech are also great opportunities for us.”

UNLV enters Friday’s match with a 3-1 record this season. All three wins were by a 7-0 scoreline, while their only loss came from Iowa State by a margin of 4-3.

On Saturday, Colorado will play against Gonzaga and Utah Tech. The Buffaloes lead their series with Gonzaga 2-0, having last defeated them in Spokane in 2023 by a score of 4-2. Gonzaga brings a similar record to Colorado at 5-2 this season and has secured four shutout victories.

The matchup with Utah Tech marks the first meeting between the programs. Utah Tech currently holds a 3-6 record for the year, earning wins over Weber State and North Dakota.

“These are our last out of conference matches before we jump into Big 12 play,” Pham said. “and I know the team is excited to get out and compete for three more matches this weekend.”

Friday’s contest versus UNLV begins at 11 a.m., while Saturday’s matches against Gonzaga and Utah Tech start at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
