Colorado lacrosse players Elena Oh and Jess Peluso have once again received Big 12 weekly honors, marking the fourth consecutive week that at least one player from the team has been recognized by the conference.
Goalkeeper Elena Oh, a sophomore from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, continued her streak as Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week. This is her fourth straight time earning the award this season and the second time in her career she has achieved four consecutive wins. In less than two seasons, Oh has now collected eight career Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
Oh recorded 20 saves over two games against ranked opponents last week. She tied her career-high with 12 saves against then-No. 18 Stony Brook and added eight more in Colorado’s win over then-No. 22 Army. Over these games, she posted a .571 save percentage and allowed an average of just 7.50 goals per game. Nationally, Oh ranks seventh in save percentage (.534) and fifth in goals-against average (6.59).
Defender Jess Peluso, a senior from East Islip, New York, was named Big 12 Defender of the Week for the third time in four weeks. She played a key role on a defensive unit that limited both opponents to single-digit scoring and has not allowed more than ten goals in any game this season. Peluso caused six turnovers and collected four ground balls during last week’s contests.
The Buffaloes will next face No. 8 Michigan on Sunday in Ann Arbor, with play scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Mountain Time.
