Colorado will host TCU in a Big 12 men’s basketball matchup on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the CU Events Center in Boulder. The game is scheduled to tip off at 12:02 p.m. Mountain Time and will be broadcast on TNT/truTV and KOA radio.
The Buffaloes enter the contest with a 12-9 overall record and are tied with Arizona State for 12th place in the Big 12 Conference standings, holding a league record of 2-6. Colorado has lost its last six games and eight of its past ten but has already matched its win total from last season’s regular schedule by midseason.
Colorado is among the top teams nationally in several statistical categories. The team ranks second in the Big 12 and 27th nationally in free throw shooting percentage at 77.2 percent. It also holds top-50 national rankings for turnovers allowed (33rd), assist-to-turnover ratio (32nd), and free throws made per game (50th).
“Colorado’s 9.9 turnovers allowed per game rank second in the Big 12, behind only No. 10/7 ranked Houston (8.7 topg).” The Buffaloes have kept their turnovers to single digits nine times this season and have met their goal of allowing no more than eleven turnovers in fifteen out of twenty-one games.
On offense, Colorado has demonstrated scoring balance with at least four players reaching double figures in fifteen games this season, including four contests where five players scored ten or more points. Freshman Isaiah Johnson leads the team with an average of 16.6 points per game and recently moved into a starting role after coming off the bench for most of the season.
Johnson leads Colorado in several categories including free throws made (114) and attempted (137), three-pointers made (34), and steals (22). He is also ranked fifth nationally among freshmen for free throws made.
Junior Barrington Hargress leads Colorado in assists (95), three-point percentage (.525), and field goal percentage (.546). He ranks fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio within conference play at 3.4.
Sophomore Sebastian Rancik is second on the team in rebounding with an average of 5.2 per game and leads Colorado—and ranks second in the conference—in free throw percentage at 87.4 percent.
Junior forward Bangot Dak tops Colorado’s rebounding charts with an average of seven rebounds per game while also contributing defensively as one of the leading shot blockers on the team.
Freshman Alon Michaeli has provided scoring off the bench, averaging nearly nine points per game over nineteen appearances.
In terms of NCAA NET rankings through January 29, Colorado stands at number eighty-six after peaking earlier this season at thirty-nine.
TCU comes into Sunday’s matchup with a record of thirteen wins and eight losses, tied for ninth place alongside Cincinnati within conference standings at three wins to five losses. The Horned Frogs recently lost to Houston but are averaging nearly eighty points per game while holding opponents to just over seventy points on average defensively.
TCU is led by sophomore forward David Punch who averages nearly fifteen points along with seven-and-a-half rebounds per contest; he also ranks high nationally for blocked shots. Junior guard Brock Harding directs TCU’s offense with over six assists per game while maintaining one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios within the conference.
This will be the eighth meeting between Colorado and TCU; Colorado currently holds a slight edge having won four out of seven previous encounters, including two victories last season—one during regular play and another during postseason competition.
