Colorado will play its final road game of the regular season against Utah on Tuesday, March 3, at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. The game is scheduled to start at 7:01 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Radio coverage is available on KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM, with additional online streaming through Sirius XM and live statistics accessible online.

The Buffaloes enter the matchup with a record of 16-13 overall and are tied for 11th place in the Big 12 Conference standings with Arizona State, holding a conference record of 6-10. Although it is mathematically possible for Colorado to finish as high as ninth in the league standings, tiebreakers are expected to limit their position to no higher than 11th place. The team was eliminated from contention for a first-round bye over the weekend.

Colorado has posted a balanced performance recently, going 4-4 over its last eight games—all four wins coming at home. The team has improved its conference win total compared to last year, and a recent victory over Kansas State ensures that Colorado will not finish lower than 14th in the final league standings.

The Buffaloes have struggled on the road this season with a record of 1-8 away from home and have lost their last seven road games.

Scoring contributions have come from multiple players throughout the season; at least four players have scored in double figures in 19 out of Colorado’s 29 games so far, including six games where five or more players reached double digits. Six different players have led the team in scoring during individual games this season.

Freshman Isaiah Johnson leads Colorado with an average of 16.4 points per game, tying him for third in the Big 12 and ranking him among national leaders for freshmen scorers. Johnson also leads his team in free throws made (140) and attempted (173), three-pointers made (48), steals (29), while ranking second in assists (83) and third in three-point percentage (.371). He is ranked eleventh nationally among freshmen for free throws made and twenty-fifth for free throw percentage (.809).

Junior Barrington Hargress leads Colorado in assists (130), field goal percentage (.541), three-point percentage (.506), overall field goals made (151), ranks second on the team with an average of 14.2 points per game, second in three-pointers made (45), and third in steals (26). Hargress holds notable positions within conference rankings for assist-to-turnover ratio, field goal shooting among guards, and assists.

Sophomore Sebastian Rancik is second on the team in rebounding with an average of 5.6 per game as well as free throws made (111) and attempted (129). He also ranks third on his team for scoring at an average of 12.3 points per game.

Junior forward Bangot Dak leads Colorado with an average of 6.4 rebounds per game—sixteenth best within the Big 12—and averages seventh most blocks at 1.5 per contest within conference rankings. Dak was recognized by being named to the Big 12 Starting Five after his performance against Oklahoma State.

Freshman guard Ian Inman has provided increased production off the bench recently; he scored career highs against Kansas State including five three-pointers made out of seven attempts along with five rebounds.

According to NCAA NET rankings through February 28, Colorado currently sits at No. 78 after peaking earlier this season at No. 39.

Utah comes into Tuesday’s contest holding a record of 10-19 overall and tied for fifteenth place within conference standings at 2-14; they have lost their last three games but return home seeking improvement during their final home appearance this season.

Junior guard Terrence Brown leads Utah averaging 19.7 points per game—which ranks fourth among all Big 12 players—and contributes both assists and steals leadership within his squad as well as being one of only two other Utes averaging double-digit scoring: Don McHenry averages 17.1 points while Keanu Dawes posts 12.6 points alongside significant defensive rebounding numbers that rank highly both locally and nationally.

Tuesday’s meeting marks the sixty-fifth time these teams face each other historically; Colorado holds a series advantage at thirty-six wins versus twenty-eight losses but trails when playing Utah away from Boulder—having last won there on March 5th, 2022.
