Senior attacker Maddie Shoup and sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh from the Colorado Buffaloes women’s lacrosse team have been added to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award watch list, according to an announcement made by the organization on Thursday. They join senior attacker Jess Peluso, who was previously named to the initial watch list in February.

The Tewaaraton Award, established in 2001, is given annually to the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. Selection committees are composed of leading collegiate coaches appointed each year by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

Shoup drew national attention with a five-goal performance during Colorado’s season-opening upset against No. 2 Northwestern. She has scored in every game so far this season and recently recorded five points at No. 22 Army last Sunday. To date, Shoup has accumulated 12 goals and six assists for a team-leading total of 18 points.

Oh has performed strongly as goalkeeper early in the season. She currently ranks fifth nationally in both save percentage (.543) and goals-against average (6.56). Oh has secured all four Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors this season and has not allowed more than 10 goals in any of Colorado’s five games thus far. In recent matches against ranked teams Stony Brook and Army, she posted a combined total of 20 saves, matching her career high with 12 saves at Stony Brook.

Colorado will face its third consecutive ranked opponent when it plays No. 8 Michigan on Sunday in Ann Arbor, with play set to begin at 11 a.m. Mountain Time.

Tickets for both single games and the full season are available for purchase online at CUBuffs.com/WlaxTix.
