The Colorado Soccer program announced on Mar. 25 that Berkley Mensik will join the Buffaloes’ 2026 roster as a transfer from Notre Dame, according to head coach Danny Sanchez.

Mensik, a midfielder and forward from Algonquin, Illinois, played four seasons at Notre Dame where she appeared in 35 games over the 2022 and 2024 seasons with nine starts. During her time with the Fighting Irish, she scored one goal and recorded four assists. She was recognized with the team’s Elizabeth Tucker Award in 2025.

“Berkley is a great addition to our 2026 squad,” Sanchez said. “She has tremendous experience playing in different roles and brings qualities that can immediately help us push our program ahead. Berkley is a fantastic student and person who will fit in seamlessly with our program culture.”

Notre Dame reached the NCAA Tournament each year during Mensik’s tenure and advanced to the Elite Eight in both 2022 and 2024. She also earned spots on the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic team those same years.

Mensik said her decision was influenced by her visit to Boulder: “From the moment I arrived in Boulder, I knew Colorado was home,” Mensik said. “The environment, culture and people at CU felt like the perfect fit for me both athletically and personally.” Before college, she set records at Dundee-Crown High School for goals and assists while earning All-State honors as a senior.

Looking ahead, Mensik plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership after graduating from Notre Dame. She hopes for a professional soccer career while continuing leadership work within sports industry circles.
