Colorado’s women’s tennis team is set to begin its home conference schedule after splitting its first week of Big 12 play. The Buffaloes, holding a 9-3 record, will host Kansas State and No. 28 Oklahoma State at the Meadows Club this weekend.

Last weekend, Colorado defeated Iowa State 4-0 on Friday but fell to Kansas by the same score on Sunday.

“We’re excited to be playing at home,” said head coach Anthony Pham. “We have two very good teams this week, and the job is still to get out there and compete.”

The Buffaloes will face Kansas State (4-4) on Friday. Colorado leads the all-time series against the Wildcats 25-14, although their last meeting was in 2018 when Kansas State won 4-1 in Boulder. Between 2006 and 2010, Colorado achieved a six-match win streak over Kansas State and now aims for its 20th conference victory against them. Kansas State features sisters Martaa Chogsomjav and Maralgoo Chogsomjav as their top doubles team, currently ranked No. 45 nationally with an 8-2 record.

On Sunday, Colorado will play Oklahoma State, which holds a national ranking of No. 28 and has a current season record of 5-4 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 matches after recent wins over West Virginia and Cincinnati. In their history with Oklahoma State, the Buffaloes have nine victories—all from conference matchups—while Oklahoma State leads with 24 wins, including victories in their last two meetings in 2010 and 2011.

Oklahoma State brings additional strength with three ranked singles players: Rose Marie Nijkamp (No. 22), Lucia Peyre (No. 51), and Olivia Lincer (No. 53). Nijkamp also pairs with Anastasiya Komar as the No. 20 ranked doubles team.

“We know each match means something,” Pham said. “So we have to just go out and compete. We will play the best we can, compete at a high level, and trust our abilities.”

The match against Kansas State is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m., followed by Sunday’s contest against Oklahoma State at 10:30 a.m., both at the Meadows Club.
