The Colorado women’s basketball team is set to host Oklahoma State at the CU Events Center in Boulder on January 25, with tip-off scheduled for 1:02 p.m. Mountain Time. The matchup marks the second meeting between the teams this season and the 57th overall, with the series currently tied at 28-28.

Prior to the game, former head coach Ceal Barry will be honored through the official dedication of “Ceal Barry Plaza” located on the west side of the Events Center. The ceremony will take place at noon, followed by a recognition of Barry during halftime. Barry is recognized as Colorado women’s basketball’s winningest head coach.

The Buffaloes, led by tenth-year head coach JR Payne, enter the contest with a record of 12-7 overall and 3-4 in Big 12 play. Coach Payne has compiled a record of 176-123 and recently received a contract extension through the 2028 season. Under her leadership, Colorado has made three NCAA tournament appearances.

Colorado’s roster includes four returning players from last season: sophomore forward Tabitha Betson, senior forward Jade Masogayo, sophomore guard Kennedy Sanders, and fifth-year center JoJo Nworie. Betson rejoined after spending a semester at home. The team also welcomes ten newcomers—five transfers and five freshmen—for the current season.

In their most recent games, Colorado fell to Oklahoma State on January 11 despite leading late in the fourth quarter and lost to UCF on January 18. Against UCF, junior guard Desiree Wooten led with 15 points off the bench while Betson, junior guard Zyanna Walker, and Masogayo also scored in double digits.

Several players have posted notable statistics this season. Senior forward Anaëlle Dutat ranks third in conference rebounds per game (8.7) and leads in offensive rebounds (72). Walker stands out for steals per game (2.3) and assists (3.0). Freshman forward Logyn Greer is among conference leaders for blocks per game (0.8), while Wooten averages 1.6 steals per game.

As a team, Colorado is third in the Big 12 for steals per game (10.84) and fourth for offensive rebounds per game (14.1). The Buffs have recorded double figures in assists in all but one game this season and have averaged four or more players scoring double-digit points in ten games so far.
