The Colorado track and field team has qualified three individual athletes and a relay team for the 2026 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, which will be held March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The event is set to take place at the Randal Tyson Track Center and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

This qualification is significant as it highlights the achievements of both individual competitors and relay teams from Colorado, showcasing their performances at national level events.

Avery Pearson leads the qualifiers for Colorado, earning a spot in the women’s 800 meters. Pearson recently won the Big 12 Conference 600-yard title and secured her place at nationals with a program-record time of 1:59.98 at the Colorado Last Chance meet. She finished the regular season ranked seventh nationally in her event and is Colorado’s only female qualifier this year.

On the men’s side, the distance medley relay team—composed of Justine Kipkoech, Danny Tragarz, Drew Costelow, and Isaiah Givens—qualified after setting a school record of 9:19.00 at the Colorado Last Chance meet. This performance placed them twelfth nationally by season’s end. Kole Mathison and TJ Hansen have been named as alternates for this squad.

Both Givens and Kipkoech will also compete individually in the men’s mile. Givens holds the nation’s top mark since January with his time of 3:51.73 from the Potts Invitational, while Kipkoech concluded regular competition ranked twelfth nationally with a time of 3:53.05 achieved at the Colorado Classic.

The championships offer an opportunity for these athletes to compete against some of the best collegiate talent in indoor track and field. Fans can follow updates on CUBuffs.com or through social media channels such as Instagram and Twitter @CUBuffsTrack.
