The Colorado Women’s Basketball team has introduced 10 new players for the upcoming 2025-26 season, including five freshmen and five transfers. As part of an ongoing series to introduce these newcomers, freshman forward Logyn Greer is featured.

Greer shared that she played flag football in middle school before focusing on basketball, a sport embraced by her entire family. “My whole family played growing up – my mom, dad, brother, everybody played. It just made it so easy to play, and then I fell in love [with it],” she said. She began playing basketball at age seven.

When asked about her decision to join the University of Colorado, Greer cited the program’s environment and staff. “The coaching staff, the atmosphere. It just felt like a really welcoming program. I felt at home here,” she explained.

Greer enjoys living in Colorado because of its friendly people and scenic views. “People are really friendly. They’re really welcoming. And the mountains are also a plus. Yeah, you get to walk by those, drive by those every day,” she said.

She mentioned Jade Masogayo as someone she looks up to on the team: “She’s probably the reason why I committed here. I wanted to play with her. She’s just an infectious person on and off the court, so I just look up to her.”

Looking ahead to the season, Greer expressed enthusiasm about competition and travel: “Winning games, traveling to places I’ve never been like, I’ve never been to like Utah or Kansas. I [had] never been to Kansas, so I [was] just excited to go.”

Pregame rituals for Greer include listening to rap music.

Regarding academics and future plans, Greer is majoring in media production: “[I’m] just trying to learn the basics and then try to see what I like really gravitate to.” Her interest in photography and videography developed from a high school class and freelance opportunities with the men’s basketball team: “In high school, I took a photography class for fun, and I really enjoyed doing it…I also did some freelance stuff for the men’s team.”

Outside of basketball, Greer describes herself as a homebody who enjoys watching television shows such as “Vampire Diaries” and “Power.” While she occasionally watches movies like “The Perfect Find,” she prefers TV series.
