The Colorado women’s basketball team secured a 56-47 win over Kansas State at Bramlage Coliseum on Thursday, improving their season record to 14-7 and 5-4 in Big 12 play. The Buffaloes established an early lead and maintained it through most of the game, despite a fourth-quarter push from the Wildcats.

“I thought our execution was really good,” said head coach JR Payne. “I think we have a really unselfish group. You can tell kind of by the scoring: it’s very balanced. Every night, we don’t really have a 20-point scorer, but we [have] a bunch of 10-point scorers. We love to share the ball, and I thought we did that. We scored in a handful of different ways, executed, knocked down a couple shots, which always helps, and just unselfish play.”

Colorado outperformed Kansas State in several key areas: they had more rebounds (41-33), bench points (27-18), assists (15-11), and second-chance points (15-4). The Buffaloes also held the Wildcats to just 13% shooting from three-point range.

Junior guard Zyanna Walker led Colorado with her first double-double of the season—scoring 13 points and grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds—along with four steals and two assists against her former team. Senior forward Jade Masogayo contributed 13 points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Desiree Wooten added 11 points while freshman forward Logyn Greer matched that total with six rebounds.

This victory marks Colorado’s first road win this season; their last away victory came exactly one year ago at BYU on January 29, 2025.

The Buffaloes now hold a narrow all-time advantage over Kansas State at 36-35. In Big 12 competition overall, Colorado’s record stands at 114 wins to 153 losses.

Up next for Colorado is another road game against Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence on Sunday, February 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT with streaming available on ESPN+ and live stats accessible via CUBuffs.com.
