The Colorado women’s basketball team will host No. 20 Texas Tech at the CU Events Center in Boulder on February 21 at 7 p.m. Mountain Time. The game, which will be streamed on ESPN+, marks the team’s 28th of the season and is part of Senior Day celebrations for forwards Anaëlle Dutat and Jade Masogayo.
Colorado, currently holding a 19-8 overall record and a 10-5 mark in Big 12 play, faces Texas Tech (24-4, 11-4 Big 12) for the first time since an overtime loss last season. The Buffs have met Texas Tech 25 times previously, with Texas Tech leading the series.
The Buffaloes are led by head coach JR Payne, who is in her tenth year with the program. “Coach Payne has been extended through the 2028 season and has led the Buffs to three NCAA appearances, two WNIT appearances and one WBIT appearance,” according to team information.
Senior forward Anaëlle Dutat recently achieved a career-high with 20 points against Arizona and was recognized as one of the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Starting Five Top Performers this week. “Dutat earns her first conference weekly recognition of her career, and her first in the Big 12, as well as the Buffs’ third in the 2025-26 season,” stated a release from the conference. Dutat leads the Big 12 in offensive rebounds per game (3.8) and total offensive rebounds (102), ranking third in rebounds per game (8.2).
Jade Masogayo is also among conference leaders, sitting at 24th for points per game (12.3) and holding strong free throw numbers at nearly 78 percent.
The Buffs are performing well collectively this season, ranking third in offensive rebounds per game within their conference and placing high in several other statistical categories including rebounding margin and steals per game.
This matchup marks Colorado’s sixth against a ranked opponent this year. The team has seen significant contributions from newcomers alongside returning players such as Kennedy Sanders, JoJo Nworie, Tabitha Betson, Zyanna Walker, Desiree Wooten, Claire O’Connor, Maeve McErlane, Erianna Gooden, Jade Crook, Isa Hämäläinen, Logyn Greer and Sophie Zadel.
