The University of Denver men’s golf team finished the opening round of the Loyola Intercollegiate tied for third place at 7-under par in Goodyear, Arizona. Loyola and Richmond currently share the lead, both sitting at 8-under par. South Dakota joins Denver in third position.
Paxton Maxwell from Utah Valley leads the individual standings after shooting a 7-under round. Campbell Kerr of Grand Canyon follows at 6-under, while Jet Hernandez and Rylan Shim from NC State are tied for third with scores of 5-under.
For Denver, Jet Hernandez carded a 67 to tie for third individually. Jack Dozer is tied for fifth with a score of 68. Willis Panzarello is tied for thirteenth after shooting a 70. Zander Grant posted an even-par round to tie for thirty-eighth. Matthew Novak finished four over par and is tied for eighty-eighth, while Ryder Odem shot five over to sit in ninety-eighth place.
Denver will continue play with the second round tomorrow in Arizona.
