The University of Denver men’s golf team finished the first 36 holes of the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate in sixth place at one-under par, according to a March 23 update from the team. The tournament is being held at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

This position puts Denver behind Nebraska, Marquette, and Iowa State, who hold the top three spots on the leaderboard at 13-under, 12-under, and 10-under respectively. Individually, Emil Riegger from Maryland leads with a score of nine under par. Zander Grant from Denver is currently second overall with six under par.

Grant carded rounds of 68 and 70 for a total score of 138. Other Denver players include Ryder Odem (36th place at two over), Jet Hernandez (41st place at three over), Jack Dozer (47th place at four over), and Willis Panzarello (58th place at six over).

The final round is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time.

The outcome of this tournament will determine how Denver’s golfers stack up against other collegiate teams as they move into the remainder of their season.
