Denver men’s golf tied for sixth after first round at Bandon Dunes

The University of Denver men’s golf team finished the opening round of the Bandon Dunes Championship tied for sixth place at one-under par. The tournament is being held at Bandon Dunes Golf Course in Oregon.

Oregon State leads the team competition with a score of 21-under, followed by Oregon at 16-under. Utah Tech and Sacramento State are tied for third place at five-under.

In the individual standings, Nguyen Anh Minh from Oregon State holds first place with a score of 10-under. Jeffrey Kwak (Oregon), Rylan Johnson (Oregon State), Aidaen Krafft (Oregon), and Walker Lamb (Seattle) are all tied for second at five-under.

For Denver, Zander Grant and Jack Dozer both posted rounds of two-under 69 to tie for 17th individually. Jet Hernandez finished with a one-over 72, placing him in a tie for 43rd. Matthew Novak shot a two-over 73 to sit in a tie for 53rd, while Willis Panzarello carded a four-over 75, tying him for 73rd.

The Denver Pioneers will begin their second round on Tuesday morning at 6:45 a.m. Mountain Time.
