Douglas County residents now have a new tool for staying informed about public safety. DougCoAlert, a notification system, is now available for sign-up.

DougCoAlert provides real-time alerts and updates on emergencies and other critical information. Residents can customize the types of notifications they receive, including important weather-related warnings.

The service also allows users to add essential medical details to their profiles. This includes information about special needs or evacuation assistance requirements for household members. First responders will be able to access this information during emergencies.

To register, residents can visit DougCoAlert.com, text “DougCoAlert” to 67283, or sign up online at https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/login.action?pa=DougCoAlert.

“Stay informed. Stay safe. DougCoAlert is here,” the announcement states.

“Emergencies don’t wait—be ready before they happen,” according to the release.
