Residents of Elbert County are being encouraged to sign up for ElbertCountyAlert.com, a free service that provides urgent notifications from local public safety authorities. The alert system is designed to inform residents about hazardous situations, severe weather, or necessary evacuation and shelter-in-place orders.

According to the announcement, individuals can register themselves and others in their household at ElbertCountyAlert.com. The system also allows users to include information about pets, trained service animals, or livestock. Notifications can be delivered via phone call—either at home or on a mobile device—as well as by text message or email. This flexibility aims to ensure that critical information reaches people through their preferred method.

ElbertCountyAlert serves all residents, business owners, employees, and visitors in Elbert County with countywide emergency notifications.

The statement notes: “If you were previously registered to receive emergency notifications from CodeRed you will not be automatically enrolled in ElbertCountyAlert.”

This means those who used the former CodeRed system must register again with the new platform to continue receiving alerts.
