Congresswoman Lauren Boebert announced that the House of Representatives has approved $11.75 million for water projects across Colorado’s 4th Congressional District as part of H.R. 6938. The funding supports ten community projects aimed at improving water infrastructure in various towns and rural communities.

“I am thrilled that the House has passed this vital appropriations package, delivering $11.75 million for essential water projects right here in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District,” said Congresswoman Lauren Boebert. “Water is one of the most important issues facing our rural communities, and I’ve fought hard to secure these funds because Coloradans deserve clean, reliable water. From building new pipelines and treatment facilities to replacing aging infrastructure, these projects will benefit thousands of families, boost fire protection, and support economic growth. This is a big win for Colorado families, farmers, and small towns.”

The legislation passed the House on January 8th and includes funding for several initiatives such as constructing new pipelines, consolidating water districts, upgrading treatment plants, and replacing outdated infrastructure.

Among the funded projects are:
– A pipeline from Plum Creek to Rueter-Hess Reservoir in Castle Rock to store renewable water for over 200,000 people.
– Consolidation of Prairie View Ranch Water District with Morgan County Quality Water District to maintain drinking water and fire protection services.
– Construction of a regional water treatment plant in Severance serving multiple northern Colorado towns.
– Upgrades to Lamar’s wastewater treatment facility to meet state requirements.
– Replacement of Louviers’ corroded steel drinking water system.
– Improvements to Ovid’s aging water system components.
– Addition of a second well in Kiowa for redundancy.
– Building a reverse osmosis plant in Brush to treat high-TDS water.
– Infrastructure improvements in Yuma targeting streets, stormwater management, and utility reliability.
– Completion of Walsh’s upgraded water system including compliance measures for safe drinking standards.

Lauren Boebert has represented Colorado’s 3rd district since 2021 after succeeding Scott Tipton. She was born in Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1986 and currently lives in Silt.
