Colorado freshman guard Isaiah Johnson was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Mountain District First Team, the organization announced on Mar. 17.

The recognition highlights Johnson’s strong performance during the season and places him among the top players in a district that includes teams from Colorado, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Montana, and Oklahoma. The NABC All-Mountain team is one of ten districts voted on by NABC members across NCAA Division I.

Johnson leads Colorado in scoring with an average of 16.9 points per game. This ranks him third in the Big 12 Conference and fifteenth nationally among freshmen. He set a new Colorado freshman season scoring record with 540 points, surpassing Alec Burks’ previous mark of 512 set in the 2009-10 season.

In addition to his scoring achievements, Johnson leads the Buffaloes in free throws made (160) and attempted (195), three-pointers made (56), and steals (33). He also ranks second on the team in assists (96) and three-point percentage (.378). Johnson was named Colorado’s co-MVP for the 2025-26 season and received honorable mention for the All-Big 12 Conference team. He is on track to become only the eighth freshman to lead Colorado in scoring for an entire season.

Johnson is Colorado’s first NABC all-district team member since KJ Simpson earned honors in the 2023-24 season. He becomes the sixth different Buffaloes player to earn first-team honors from the coaches organization and is now one of fifteen Colorado players recognized by the NABC since 1994.

The full list of first-team honorees includes Jaden Bradley (Arizona), Brayden Burries (Arizona), MJ Collins Jr. (Utah State), AJ Dybantsa (BYU), Mason Falslev (Utah State), Jake Hall (New Mexico), Isaiah Johnson (Colorado), Koa Peat (Arizona), Anthony Roy (Oklahoma State), and Richie Saunders (BYU). Tommy Lloyd of Arizona was named Coach of the Year.
