Jacob Love appointed director of emergency management for Elbert County

Jacob Love has been appointed as Elbert County’s new Director of Emergency Management. Love, who previously served as a firefighter and paramedic in Elizabeth, returns to the county with over 17 years of experience in emergency medical services.

Love began his career in Elizabeth and has worked as a flight paramedic for Flight for Life Colorado and UCHealth Lifeline. He also served as a firefighter/paramedic with Summit Fire and EMS, and most recently held the position of EMS Coordinator at AdventHealth.

In addition to being certified as a paramedic by the State of Colorado, Love holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Management/Fire Science from Columbia Southern University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Executive Leadership/Emergency Management.

Love is also active on several boards. He serves on the Board of Directors for both the Mile High Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council (RETAC) and the Colorado Emergency Medical Services Educators Association.
