Colorado women’s basketball senior forward Jade Masogayo has been named to the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Starting Five as a Top Performer for the week, according to an announcement from the conference on Monday, February 9.

This marks Masogayo’s second career weekly recognition and her first in the Big 12. It is also Colorado’s second such honor of the 2025-26 season. The program has now earned its 34th player of the week (non-freshman) award across its history in the Big Eight, Big 12, and Pac-12 conferences.

Masogayo recorded a career-high 23 points against then-No. 14 TCU on Sunday, February 8. Her performance included a decisive and-one free throw that secured an 80-79 victory for Colorado. She added three rebounds, two assists, and one steal during what was Colorado’s first win over a top-15 opponent since defeating No. 10/8 Kansas State at home on January 25, 2025. Earlier in the week, Masogayo posted 13 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one block against then-No. 20 West Virginia on February 4.

Over last week’s games, Masogayo averaged nearly 28 minutes per game while shooting at a rate of fifty percent from the field. She also averaged four rebounds and eighteen points per game. In current Big 12 statistics, she ranks twenty-fifth in points per game with twelve, fourteenth in free throw percentage at seventy-seven point five percent, and is tied for eighteenth in blocks per game with zero point eight.

Colorado has now achieved back-to-back weekly honors for only the fifth time in program history—this time with different athletes earning consecutive awards. Last week’s recognition went to junior guard Zyanna Walker following her performances against Kansas State and Kansas.

The Buffaloes recently secured their second win over a top-twenty ranked team by defeating TCU at home with an overall record now standing at sixteen wins and eight losses (seven-five Big 12). The team will play Houston on February 11 before returning home to face BYU on February 14; both games are available via streaming on ESPN+ with additional coverage through CUBuffs.com.

“Masogayo earns her second conference weekly recognition of her career, her first in the Big 12, as well as the Buffs’ second in the 2025-26 season.”

“This is the fifth time in program history that the Buffs were awarded back-to-back weekly honors, including freshmen of the week, and the first time earning consecutive awards for two different athletes.”
