On Saturday, March 14, Joel Speckman, a former Chaparral High School standout, helped his collegiate squad, the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets, secure a 67-64 victory over the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.

The matchup, which tipped off at noon at Kenneth E. Burg Center, marked the team’s first tournament meeting with the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals.

The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to play again on Sunday, March 15 at 5 p.m. at Kenneth E. Burg Center.
