Senior midfielder Lily Assini was added to the Tewaaraton Award watch list for No. 15 Colorado lacrosse, according to an announcement by the organization on Mar. 26.

The addition of Assini places her alongside senior attacker Maddie Shoup, sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh, and senior defender Jess Peluso as members of the Colorado team recognized on this year’s watch list.

The Tewaaraton Award has honored top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States since its founding in 2001. Selection committees are made up of leading collegiate coaches appointed by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

Assini has contributed significantly on both offense and defense this season. She has scored at least one goal in every game so far and recorded two or more points in eight out of nine games played. Her performance against UConn on Mar. 18 included a career-high six points with four goals and two assists. Defensively, she has collected 14 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers this season, matching her career high with three caused turnovers against Army on Mar. 1.

Colorado is scheduled to play No. 5 Florida in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, April 4, with the first draw set for 10 a.m. Mountain Time.
