Freshman forward Logyn Greer will return to the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team for the 2026-27 season, head coach JR Payne announced on April 15.

Greer’s return is significant for the team after her standout debut season. She played in all 34 games and started in 17, earning a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman team. Greer averaged 9.2 points per game, led the team with 27 blocks, and recorded double-digit points in 16 games. She also shot 44.5% from the field and contributed an average of five rebounds and over one assist per game.

“We’re so excited to have Logyn back for her sophomore season,” head coach JR Payne said. “She’s the epitome of versatility and made a huge impact on our program in so many ways this year. The sky is the limit for what she can accomplish, and I can’t wait to see her continue to grow and shine.”

Director of Athletics Fernando Lovo also commented on Greer’s impact: “In just her first college season, Logyn established herself as a force to be reckoned with in a very competitive Big 12 Conference,” said Lovo. “I’m so excited that she’ll continue to hone her incredible talent under Coach Payne and our women’s basketball coaching staff next season.”

During her freshman year, Greer achieved several milestones including her first double-double against Miami (OH) with twelve points and twelve rebounds, as well as scoring a career-high nineteen points versus Portland State early in the season. She finished with totals of 313 points, 169 rebounds, forty-two assists, twenty-seven blocks, and nineteen steals.

Greer joins returning players Zyanna Walker, Jade Crook, Kennedy Sanders, Maeve McErlane, Sophie Zadel, and Claire O’Connor for next year’s roster.

The Buffaloes concluded their most recent campaign with their seventeenth NCAA Tournament appearance but lost in the First Round against Illinois by a score of sixty-six to fifty-seven on March twenty-one. The team finished sixth in the Big Twelve conference standings with an eleven-and-seven record while going twenty-two-and-twelve overall.
