Colorado women’s basketball junior guards Maeve McErlane and Zyanna Walker were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to a March 24 announcement from the organization.
The Academic All-District Basketball teams recognize student-athletes for their achievements both on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, honorees must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 at the time of nomination and must have competed in at least 90 percent of games or started in at least two-thirds of them. Those selected are also considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Colorado women’s basketball athletes have earned spots on the CSC Academic All-District Team. Previous honorees include Johanna Teder and Kindyll Wetta in 2024-25, Frida Formann, Jaylyn Sherrod, Aaronette Vonleh, and Wetta in 2023-24, as well as Formann, Sherrod, and Wetta in 2022-23.
McErlane is majoring in Communications. In her first season with Colorado after transferring from DePaul, she started 23 games out of a total of 34 played. She recorded 42 points, 27 rebounds, 40 assists, and 12 steals this season while reaching career totals of 199 points, 103 rebounds, 150 assists, and 31 steals.
Walker is majoring in sociology. She played all season’s games for Colorado with starts in all but six contests. Named both an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and to the conference’s All-Defensive Team this year, Walker averaged over eleven points per game along with strong numbers for rebounds (4.2), assists (2.3), steals (2.1), field goal percentage (42.3%), free throw percentage (68.5%), double-digit scoring performances (21 times), as well as multiple standout defensive efforts throughout conference play.
Colorado women’s basketball concluded its season with its seventeenth NCAA Tournament appearance but exited after a first-round loss to Illinois on March 21 by a score of 66–57. The team finished sixth in conference play with an overall record of 22–12.
