CMS rated Parker Post Acute at 4 out of 5 overall, outpacing the Colorado nursing home average of 3.2.
For this period, Brookside INN ranked as the county’s second largest home with 126 available beds, while Life Care Center of Stonegate placed third with 120 beds.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the aging American population continues to expand as younger age brackets decline. From 2020 to 2024, those age 65 and older increased by 13%, while the under-18 population shrank 1.7%. Over the last 100 years, the country’s older adult segment rose sharply, from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 analysis found that nearly half of those 65 and up—about 28 million people—could need long-term services and supports, with more than a third projected to eventually require nursing home care.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance-focused educational organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
