Colorado lacrosse players Jess Peluso and Elena Oh have been recognized again as Big 12 Players of the Week, repeating their awards for Defender and Goalkeeper, respectively. The announcement was made by the conference on Wednesday.
Jess Peluso, a senior from East Islip, New York, contributed to Colorado’s defense in limiting Cornell to five goals. She recorded a season-high four ground balls and forced two turnovers during the game. With this honor, Peluso has now received the Big 12 Defender of the Week award five times in her career. Two games into the season, she is third in the conference with an average of 2.00 caused turnovers per game.
Elena Oh, a sophomore from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, added five saves in Colorado’s 8-5 win over Cornell. She currently leads all Big 12 goalkeepers in minutes played and ranks sixteenth nationally with a goals against average (GAA) of 7.00. Oh also tops the conference with a .481 save percentage and averages 6.5 saves per game. This marks her sixth time earning Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Buffaloes are scheduled to play Towson at Kittredge Field on Saturday at noon.
