Former University of Colorado alpine skier Ryder Sarchett earned his first World Cup points with a 25th-place finish in the giant slalom at Beaver Creek on December 7. Sarchett, who wore bib number 52, advanced to the second run by posting the 27th-fastest time in the opening round. He then improved his position to finish 25th overall after the second run. This achievement came during just his sixth career World Cup start and marks only his second completed race at this level.

Sarchett competed for one season with the University of Colorado in 2024, where he contributed to the Buffaloes’ NCAA national championship win. During that season, he was named to the second-team All-America in slalom and received second-team All-RMISA honors. He also won the Spencer Nelson Award and was recognized twice as CU Athlete of the Week.

The next World Cup giant slalom races are scheduled for December 13 in Val D’Isere, France.
