DOUGLAS COUNTY: Douglas County needs you!

Announcement

Douglas County issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Share your talent and expertise on one of our many Citizen Advisory Boards, Committees or Commissions — it’s a hands-on way for you to engage in the County’s governance and serve your community.

Douglas County is actively seeking volunteers to fill four vacancies on the following boards and commissions: Audit Committee, Cultural Council and Library Board of Trustees.  Find Commissioner District requirements and other qualifications for open positions and submit an application by Sept. 15, 2020.

“From the Cultural Council to the Planning Commission, volunteer members provide subject matter expertise and experience that is vital to the County’s decision-making process,” said County Commissioner and Board Chair Roger Partridge. “The County and its citizens greatly benefit from this service.”

Do you have skills or interests that don’t match the volunteer opportunities listed above? We want to hear from you. Douglas County accepts applications on an ongoing basis for future vacancies on over 15 different advisory bodies that span a variety of topics and disciplines.

Position responsibilities, Commissioner District representation, terms of office, appointment process and meeting schedules vary for each board, committee and commission. Learn more about each, find a match with your interests and knowledge, and complete an application. Applications will remain in consideration for one year from the application date.
