Douglas County issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.

If you are a registered voter in Douglas County, anticipate the arrival of your ballot by mail the week of Oct. 12. Follow the checklist below to become election-ready starting now. And remember, DouglasVotes.com is always your best source for up-to-date election information.

Check your voter registration/register to vote. Do both at DouglasVotes.com,  your one-stop shop to register, check voter registration status, update your mailing address or check your party status. You can also view a sample ballot and find important dates and deadlines leading up to the Tuesday, Nov. 3 Election.

Is your voter registration mailing address accurate? If your mailing address has changed since you last voted in a Douglas County election, be certain to update your voter registration information at DouglasVotes.com to ensure you receive your ballot, and other important election information.

Locate your closest ballot drop box and Vote Early. Near You. Did you know that more than 80 percent of Douglas County voters prefer to deliver their ballots for free using one of the convenient ballot drop box locations countywide? This year this option is even more appealing – safe, secure ballot drop boxes will be open Oct. 12, 2020 through 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2020.

How do I know my vote will count? Colorado has been conducting all-mail ballot elections since 2014 and is regarded as a national model for elections integrity, security and high voter turnout. Watch this short “Life of a Ballot” video to see exactly how the process works. You can also track the status of your mail ballot — from mailed to accepted — with phone, text or email notifications.

What if I need in-person voter assistance? Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPCs) will open at four locations in Douglas County on Oct. 19. Seven additional locations will be open beginning Oct. 30, and on Election Day nine more VSPC’s will open, giving voters 20 locations to visit for Election-day support. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency, in-person voting may be limited or unavailable at certain locations, please check DouglasVotes.com or call 303-660-7444 before visiting a VSPC to confirm availability.

When is the last possible day to vote? Know your ballot deadline. No matter how you deliver it, your ballot must be received by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 — an Election Day postmark does not count.
