DOUGLAS COUNTY: Recent Public Health Orders prompt $15 million grant program for Douglas County restaurants and indoor event venues

Douglas County issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.

Restaurants and indoor event venues with physical locations in the County and 200 or fewer employees may be eligible for COVID-19 impacts grants. Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Douglas County has allocated $15 million to fund a grant for restaurants and indoor event venues that have experienced revenue loss due to capacity reductions required by recent public health orders.

The Board of Douglas County Commissioners recognizes the hardship to our community caused by compliance with restrictions in these public health orders. Knowing there has not yet been any new financial assistance offered along with these recent orders the Commissioners believe this the most effective way to offer some relief for those who will be most impacted.

Restaurant and event venue owners are encouraged to review eligibility details for the Douglas County CARES Restaurant and Event Venue Impact Grant. Applications will be accepted beginning Dec. 1, 2020 through Dec. 30, 2020. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying businesses, based on the order in which the applications were received.

Individual grant amounts will be based upon COVID-19 impact and revenue loss as demonstrated in the application. Grant awards will be equal to 10% of the revenue loss calculated up to a maximum of $200,000.
