Kiowa issued the following announcement on Dec. 18.
There are 14 new cases of PCR-confirmed COVID-19 infections to report. Of this total, nine have been identified as part of a COVID-19 outbreak at the Good Samaritan Society Long Term Care Facility in Simla, and range in age from 56 to 86 years. Of note, under contract with the state, CVS and Walgreens will deploy vaccination teams to Long Term Care facilities in Colorado to inocculate residents. Clinics at these facilities will on December 28. All LTCFs in this program will receive Pfizer vaccine.
The remaining five cases are from the following zip codes:
• 80117: 2 cases;
• 80107: 1 case;
• 80138: 1 case;
• 80828: 1 case.
Ages for these cases range from 21 to 78 years. Our count of PCR-confirmed cases to date now total eight hundred and forty-four. There is one new case of serology-confirmed COVID-19 to report, which brings the total from these infections to seventy-eight. There are no new hospitalizations to report today. A total of 149 tests have been reported since yesterday's update. Elbert County's two-week cumulative incidence now measures 711.98 cases per 100,000 population. Our two-week average positivity remains at 15.50%. Elbert County remains at Level Red: Severe Risk on the COVID Dial. Lastly, Colorado will begin receiving 95,600 doses of the Moderna vaccine.
