KIOWA: COVID information from Elbert County - 12/29

Kiowa issued the following announcement on Dec. 29.

Below is a summary of the new COVID information from Elbert County.

New cases to report: 3. All from 80107. NO new fatalities or hospitalizations

Total cases to date: PCR confirmed: 933, serology- confirmed: 94

Elbert county 2 week cumulative measures at 449.67/ 100,000

population, which gives us an average positivity of 11.09%. Ten of

the last 14 days have been below 15% incidence.

We remain at Level Red: Severe Risk on the COVID Dial

Below is a list of the vaccine rollout stages by occupation:

Elbert County Public Health has received numerous inquiries on which workers are eligible for COVID-19 vaccine distribution in Phases 1A and 1B. As many residents work in healthcare and allied health professions in neighboring counties, it may be helpful to know where individual occupations are slotted.

Phase 1A Occupations includes inpatient and outpatient healthcare workers in high-risk settings such as hospitals, primary care, urgent care and support staff (e.g. hospital food service, housekeeping, front desk, chaplains, etc.) who come into contact with COVID-19 patients for more than 15 minutes over a 24 hour period. Specific professions include the following:

Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, Speech‐Language Pathologists, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Anesthesiologists, General Internal Medicine Physicians, Physicians, All Other; & Ophthalmologists, Except Pediatric, Surgeons, Clinical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians, Cardiovascular Technologists and Technicians, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Pharmacy Technicians, Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Orderlies, Pharmacy Aides, Healthcare Support Workers, All Other, Maids and Housekeeping Cleaners.

Phase 1B Occupations include inpatient and outpatient healthcare workers in moderate risk settings such as non-COVID hospital floors, dental offices, behavioral health clinics, pharmacies and home health who have less direct contact with COVID-19 patients. First Responders are also included in this category (EMS, fire, police, COVID response, corrections, and funeral personnel. Specific professions include the following:

Medical and Health Services Managers, Emergency Management Directors, Funeral Home Managers, Epidemiologists, Medical Scientists, Biological Technicians, Substance Abuse, Behavioral Disorder, & Mental Health Counselors, Healthcare Social Workers, Mental Health & Substance Abuse staff, Social Workers, Health Education Specialists, Community Health Workers, Dentists, General, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Optometrists, Podiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Radiation Therapists, Recreational Therapists, Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Midwives, Audiologists, Family Medicine Physicians, Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Pediatricians, General, Psychiatrists, Dental Hygienists, Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Radiologic Technologists and Technicians, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, EMTs and Paramedics, Dietetic Technicians, Psychiatric Technicians, Surgical Technologists, Ophthalmic Medical Technicians, Orthotists and Prosthetists, Hearing Aid Specialists, Medical Dosimetrists, Medical Records Specialists, and Health Technologists & Technicians, All Other, Health Information Technologists, Medical Registrars, Surgical Assistants, & Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Workers, Home Health and Personal Care Aides, Psychiatric Aides, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy Aides, Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapist Aides, Dental Assistants, Medical Assistants, Medical Equipment Preparers, Phlebotomists, First‐Line Supervisors of Correctional Officers, First‐Line Supervisors of Police and Detectives, First‐Line Supervisors of Firefighting & Prevention Workers, Firefighters, Fire Inspectors and Investigators, Correctional Officers and Jailers, Detectives and Criminal Investigators, Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officers, Cooks, Institution and Cafeteria, Embalmers, Funeral Attendants, Morticians, Undertakers, and Funeral Arrangers, Crematory Operators and Personal Care & Service Workers, All Other Public Safety Telecommunicators, Dispatchers, Avionics Technicians, Dental Laboratory Technicians, Air Traffic Controllers.
