Innovation: 3 patents granted in Broomfield in week ending June 27

There were three patents granted in Broomfield in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is five less than the week before. Patents included a mesh network based automated upload of content to aircraft.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to Innovative Brick Systems who filed in May 14, 2019.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
