Patent office approves 6 patents for Louisville innovators in week ending June 27

There were six patents granted in Louisville in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is four more than the week before. Patents included a multicast aided cooperative beamforming wireless system.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to JustRight Surgical, LLC who filed in June 25, 2018.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
