Colorado track and field athletes competed at the Jack Christiansen Invitational in Fort Collins on March 28, with Danny Tragarz achieving a significant milestone in the men’s 400-meter hurdles.

Tragarz won the event with a time of 50.37 seconds, which places him fourth on Colorado’s all-time list for the event. His performance is just behind former Colorado athlete Cole Romig’s record of 50.36 seconds and currently ranks sixth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association this season.

The meet also saw success for Colorado in distance events, as Linda Weigang led a sweep in the women’s 5000 meters by winning with a time of 17:27.57. Teammates Beana Winchell and Georgia Bell followed to secure second and third place finishes, resulting in a podium sweep for Colorado.

In relay action, Luke Dry, Nick Gehring, Joran Ball, and Teagan Malcom won the men’s 4×400-meter relay with a finishing time of 3:16.44 to close out competition for Colorado at the meet.

Looking ahead, members of Colorado’s distance squad are scheduled to compete at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto on April 3–4. At the same time, Colorado will host its own Jerry Quiller Classic meet in Boulder.
